Job Description
A Procurement Engineer is responsible for buying materials, equipment, and services needed for engineering projects. They work with suppliers and teams to get the best deals while ensuring quality and meeting deadlines. The job includes reviewing vendor offers, managing supply risks, tracking inventory, and following industry rules. Good technical knowledge and negotiation skills are important for this role.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research to identify reliable suppliers.
- Develop procurement strategies tailored to marine and heavy civil engineering projects.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to optimize costs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with tender requirements and procurement policies.
- Prepare procurement reports, forecasts, and budgets for management.
- Advise on supplier selection, weighing pros and cons for optimal decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal departments to address technical challenges.
Recent Marine Projects Delivered
- Waterfront Extension:
- Reclamation of 155,000 sq. m peninsula with a 2.0 KM breakwater.
- 120-berth marina, block quay wall, soil improvement, dredging, and beach replenishment.
- Massive Land Reclamation:
- 6 million tons of rock revetment and 9 million cubic meters of dredged material.
- Over 1 million sq. m reclaimed land, including demolition and removal of three existing breakwaters.
Requirements
- Experience:
- 8+ years post-graduation, including solid site experience in marine construction.
- 3+ years in procurement, focusing on marine and heavy civil engineering projects.
- Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of UAE supply chain for re-bar, concrete, manpower, and more.
- Proven ability to manage procurement processes for materials and subcontracts.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Fluent in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus).

- Salary: AED 17,000 to 21,000 per month (inclusive of allowances)
