Job Description:
The Process Safety Engineer will assist the Safety and Loss Prevention Senior Engineer in implementing a robust Process Safety Management System, conducting risk studies, and ensuring compliance with QAFCO Management System procedures related to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to QAFCO’s standards for Product Stewardship, Environment, Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Responsible Care Management Systems. Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations. Follow industry standards, technical requirements, and good engineering practices.
- Create and maintain company-wide Process Safety Specifications and Standards
- Conduct Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies, including HAZOP, SIL, QRA, LOPA, FMEA, MHA/DHA, safety cases, and dispersion studies. Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Generate and review weekly and monthly Process Safety Management reports.
- Evaluate bids and recommend preferred suppliers to optimize process safety requirements.
- Work with operations and project teams to ensure safety activities are aligned with project timelines and budgets.
Skills:
- Excellent supervisory skills
- Knowledge of codes, standards, and recommended practices for Process Safety Management
- Strong engineering judgment, analytical skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to recognize, assess, and mitigate hazards
- Proficiency in standard PC applications
- Excellent English communication and technical report writing skills
