Job Purpose
The Food Safety Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Food Safety business partner for the Central Catering Unit.
- Conduct scheduled inspections of catering units and submit reports promptly.
- Lead toolbox talks (TBT) on Food Safety topics on a weekly/monthly basis.
- Test food, water, ice, and swab samples from Emirates Flight Catering business units according to the sampling plan.
- Investigate and address foreign objects and food poisoning complaints.
- Participate in scheduled Food Safety Walkthroughs in production and operations areas.
- Prepare monthly Food Safety Performance trend reports and conduct monthly meetings with stakeholders.
- Ensure thermometer verifications are completed on schedule.
- Participate in FSSC internal audits.
- Conduct supplier audits according to plan.
- Facilitate audits and inspections by airlines, commercial clients, and regulatory bodies.
- Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Food Safety, Microbiology, or Biotechnology.
- Advanced Food Hygiene certification (preferred).
- Familiarity with FSSC 22000, BRC, and ISO 17025 certifications.
Work Experience:
3-5 years of experience in Food Safety and Microbiology.
