DPE executes engineering projects for development, modification or decommissioning of the offshore fields it operates. These Projects are executed either in house or by Engineering and Construction Contractors.
For this purpose DPE has a multidisciplinary Engineering team who provides technical input to projects and support to operations.
The Senior Process Engineer is critical to design and installation decisions. His/her decisions can have a significant impact on the safety/operability/cost of the installations and project delivery.
Key Result Areas (Key Accountabilities)
§ Prepare project scopes of work to be executed by Design Contractor or consultants, and monitor progress/performance/quality.
§ Review CTRs (cost time resources) submitted by design contractor and consultants.
§ Manage process optimization studies and progress these into projects.
§ Act as Client representative at design and safety reviews including HAZID, HAZOP and SIL.
§ Organize and provide technical support to Operations and other departments. Occasional visits offshore will be required for discussions and scope definition.
§ Assist Project Management to assess engineering solutions.
§ Provide input for project planning, budgets, schedules and reports.
§ Delegate and perform inter-disciplinary review of engineering documents.
§ Ensure that the facilities engineered/constructed meet offshore oil and gas industry and company standards.
§ Coordinate production of Process deliverables required for in-house project execution.
§ Work with management to develop project specific design philosophies/strategies and help ensure implementation.
§ Assist with development and training of graduate engineers.
§ Review and update in-house engineering specifications and standards.
§ Review project deliverables prepared by Design Contactor.
Communication and Important Working Relationships
§ Operations both offshore and on-shore to clearly understand operability /engineering/hazard issues to be able provide and communicate solutions.
§ Projects Team for assessment/review of process deliverables and project planning.
§ Other engineering groups for process inputs as well as review of process deliverables.
§ External contractors, consultants and vendors for review of process deliverables.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Job Related Competencies
§ Must be degree qualified in Chemical Engineering. Preferably Chartered/Professional Engineer.
§ Should have 15+ years process/chemical engineering experience in oil and gas environment with at least 10 years upstream experience.
§ Experience of all project design phases from conceptual design through to detailed design
§ Experience of process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS, PIPESIM, Flarenet.
§ Must have working knowledge and experience of offshore oil and gas industry codes, specifications and practices.
§ Experience in any of the following technical areas is desirable:
– Gas compression and rotating equipment
– Pipeline/riser flow assurance
– Produced water management
– Process control
– Enhanced oil recovery techniques
– Separator design
– Flare system modeling
– Materials and corrosion management
– Chemicals Management
§ Should be pragmatic, self-motivated and demonstrate initiative.
§ Able to present and write technical reports in fluent English.
§ Expected to take ownership of issues and follow them through to completion.
§ Willingness to interact directly with people.

§ Good presentation skills.
