Focal Point for all Material /Corrosion issues throughout DP operations. Technical Authority for Corrosion, Painting /coating and Materials Selection.
Key Result Areas (Key Accountabilities):
§ Directly promote sound HSE management in all activities associated with this role.
§ Direct corrosion monitoring activities, analysis of the results and development of the Asset Integrity Corrosion Management Strategy (AICMS).
§ Support the development of corrosion control practices and remedial work programs to address problems with the integrity of the offshore platform structures, infield pipelines, wells and topsides facilities.
§ Study the corrosion issues across the facilities and provide expert advice and recommendations to address the different corrosion threats.
§ Undertake and/or review facilities risk assessments and develop corrosion monitoring data gathering and analysis programmes; evaluate flaws reported; review data sources from internal and external groups to ensure consistency and quality all to ensure topsides pipework, vessels and structures are properly managed within the context of the Asset Integrity Management System.
§ Support with specialist corrosion input the Anomaly and Mechanical Corrosion Damage Report (MCDR) assessment and ranking processes for the offshore topsides facilities.
§ Work with other members of the Integrity Team to ensure Topsides facilities, subsea pipelines and structures are properly inspected and maintained with the pipeline databases being periodically updated and risk ranked.
§ Ensure that any actions arising from the corrosion monitoring process are fed into the relevant inspection databases and work processes.
§ Identify, develop and publish integrity metrics to drive continuous improvement, and develop comprehensive corrosion monitoring reports and trends
§ Liaise with chemical vendor, chemical management team and production group staff – both operations and wells – to ensure chemical use and analysis is relevant for continued integrity performance. Ensure that data gathered from chemical and corrosion coupon programme is matched with NDT data so that future RBI work is optimized.
§ Liaise with internal and contract staff to ensure corrosion & erosion monitoring probe and coupon systems are relevant for continued integrity performance.
§ Support Operations and Projects with material selection for replacement modifications or new works on the facilities.
§ Act as focal point for corrosion management expertise and ensure that relevant reports and data are available from the Integrity Group for the benefit of the wider organization.
§ Review the Cathodic protection reports across all assets and advise on retrofits / new design for pipelines, structures and pressure vessels. Work on Cathodic protection software as required.
§ Participate in external activities to ensure current developments in corrosion management techniques and practices are being applied, as appropriate to our facilities, in accordance with “good oilfield practice”.
