Job Purpose
 

To plan and manage all contracts with existing and new customers ensuring all operational, commercial, legal and financial requirements are well defined, in the interest of the group as whole as well as specific stakeholders.
 
To manage, maintain and enhance the pricing framework of the department in line with the Commercial business strategies.
 
Job Outline
  • Manage and utilise the Unit Cost Model to establish cost of operations at a unit level for a handling service.  Ensure validation of costs on a regular basis for budgeted resources in order to develop a pricing framework for the GHS packages created for the contracted flights. Ensure continuous enhancement to the Unit Cost Model to recognise the changes in the operational environment.
  • Negotiate price and service requirements with all customers and ensure that all contracts comply with operational deliverables. Jointly agree Cargo Transfer price between dnata Airport Operations and dnata Cargo.
  • Ensure that all contracts of the Standard Ground Handling Agreements (SGHAs) including third party handlers are compliant with both legal and insurance requirements and the credit exposure of the department is minimised via adequate guarantees. Include Group Finance, Group Legal and Group Insurance where appropriate.
  • Manage the enhancements of contract system in light of changing business scenarios systems by defining specifications, establishing test strategies and controlling master setups. Ensure system developments are adequately tested through User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Represent the department at IT Working Group meetings.
  • Ensure continuous customer focused improvement in the monthly invoicing process and timely resolution of both cash and credit issues related to contractual shortfalls. Facilitate audit (internal and external) queries and evaluate and recommend solutions.
  • Formulate and maintain SGHA/Non SGHA tariff document relating to Airside and landside operations.  Ensure service prices are kept in line with agreed contracts by co-ordinating with respective departments, maintaining common data base for suggestion and feedback, and notifying revisions requirements to internal and external customers as per the contractual terms.
  • Ensure that refund claims are verified against Ground Handling Agreement (GHA) with subsequent communication and mitigation with the airlines concerned such that all due revenue is realised for the Business as per the contractual agreement.
  • Formulate common/joint contracts across one dnata by proactively influencing the dnata International Commercial team in finalising GHA for airlines operating within the dnata international network. Ensure terms and conditions agreed in such common contracts are fully applied in both DXB and abroad. Lead business expansion worldwide through recommendation of bilateral pricing solutions.
  • Liaise with Finance and other internal departments in managing and supporting the annual revenue budgeting process. Analyse, identify and recommend remedial measures of revenue budget variations on a continuous basis.
 
Specific to dnata Cargo
  •   Manage Cargo tariffs and ensure they are correctly published and updated in both Cargo and Aircraft handling systems to affect billing prior to implementation dates. Ensure special/reciprocal/Integrator contracted rates are updated in relevant systems.
  •  Manage entire Billing activity of dnata Cargo  which  includes but no limited to Aircraft Handling (Freighter), Cargo Handling (Air and landside services), Manual & Automated billing, Cash Advances and  integrity check  to ensure dnata Cargo Revenue interest is protected at all
Qualifications & Experience

 

  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Commerce or Finance.
  • 8 years experience with commercial and contract negotiations, preferably with financial management ability.
  • Working experience with contracts fares and pricing is advantageous.
Knowledge/Skills:
  • Strong business acumen and organizing skills.
  • Knowledge of the aviation industry desirable with working knowledge of IATA SGHA.
  • Experience in Contract & Supplier Management.
  • Strong knowledge in Contract law and commercial agreements.
  • Working knowledge of IATA SGHA.
